The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of care to residents according to established plans of care and under the supervision of the professional registered nurse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports and promotes the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the nursing department.
• Assists in the planning and carrying out of direct care to residents based on the nursing care plan.
• Administers medications and treatment according to care plans and doctors' orders.
• Performs special nursing procedures as required.
• Assists in meeting the nutritional needs of the residents.
• Observes the residents for changes in physical, social or behavioral status and reports and documents signs and symptoms to the nurse in charge of the unit according to policy.
• Participate and attend all in service education programs as required or indicated.
• Use regularly scheduled unit staff meetings for problem solving and information exchange.
• Maintains good working relationships with all employees, visitors and residents.
• Must be able to use both hands or use prosthetics that enable the employee to perform duties.
• Observes, evaluates and reports on care provided to residents by Certified Nursing Assistants
